Öğrencinin kısa konuşma ve mesajlarda kişilerin niyetini anlaması, arkadaş özelliklerini ayırt etmesi ve bağlama uygun ifadeyi seçmesi beklenir. LGS’de bu konu, diyalogdaki boşluğu tamamlama, davete verilen yanıtları yorumlama veya kişiler hakkındaki ifadeleri karşılaştırma biçiminde sorulabilir.
Seçeneklerde farklı iletişim amaçları taşıyan cümleler ya da kişi adları bulunabilir. Yalnızca tanıdık kelimelere odaklanmak, kabul ile reddi karıştırmak ve soruda birlikte aranan koşullardan birini gözden kaçırmak hataya yol açabilir.
